Capabilities

A small kit, drawn for one job: finding people in photos.

Every capability earns its place. We don't ship features that don't survive the audit. This is the whole list.

01 · Detection & identity

From pixels to identity clusters.

Six things Ansikt does in the background. Four things you do on top.

A · Detection

Find every face, score every detection.

A bounding box for each face, with a confidence score. Tunable threshold per source — a marketing site sees more than an internal archive.

  • Bounding box · 4 floats
  • Detection score · 0.0–1.0
  • Threshold per source
B · Embeddings

A 512-dim vector, stored in the EU.

Each face becomes a vector. Stored encrypted at rest, in EU-only infrastructure. The original image stays where it lives — we don't make copies.

  • 512-dim float vector
  • AES-256 at rest · TLS 1.3 in flight
  • EU vault · no transfers
C · Clustering

The same person, across every photo.

Clustering merges all appearances of one person into a single identity. New photos extend existing clusters or seed new ones. Uncertain matches wait for review.

  • Hierarchical · cosine distance
  • Auto-confirm above 0.92
  • Human review at 0.78–0.91
D · Search

A reference photo in. Every appearance out.

Drag a reference photo onto the search bar, or pick an existing identity. Every appearance is returned with source URL, path, crawl date and score.

  • Median latency · 0.4s
  • Reference photo or identity
  • JSON or PDF export
Confidence — what each band means
≥ 0.92 High
Auto-confirmed match. Included by default in DSAR exports.
0.78 – 0.91 Review
Queued for a human reviewer. Default: include with a note.
0.62 – 0.77 Weak
Surfaced if you ask, hidden by default. Often false positives.
< 0.62 Drop
Discarded. Not stored, not searchable.
02 · Around the index

Four surfaces that sit on top of the index.

E · URL Proxy

Serve images, blur withdrawn faces.

Route image requests through the Ansikt proxy. When someone revokes consent, only their face blurs — the photo lives on for everyone who consented.

  • Per-image or global config
  • Blur · pixelate · block · replace
  • CDN-friendly cache headers
F · Consent management

Track consent for every face, every photo.

Bind a consent record to each appearance. Withdrawn? Proxy applies, exports flag, and reports route to the rights-holder.

  • Per-photo, per-face records
  • Versioned · auditable
  • API for your CMS or DAM
G · Audit log

Every search, every export, every operator.

Compliance teams get a tamper-evident log. Every action — search, review, export, deletion — is recorded with operator, timestamp and reason.

  • Append-only · hash-chained
  • SCIM-friendly identity
  • SIEM-ready stream (CEF / JSON)
H · DSAR export

Audit-ready PDF, regulator-friendly.

One click. A signed PDF with every appearance, source URL, crawl date, confidence, and the audit trail of how the search was run.

  • PDF · JSON · CSV
  • Optional redaction layer
  • Cryptographic signature
What we don't do

A short list, kept on purpose.

No public face search.

Ansikt only searches systems you connect. We don't index the open internet, and we don't sell access to anyone's face data — including yours.

No third-party model providers.

Detection and embeddings run on infrastructure we operate, in the EU. Your photos and the vectors derived from them never reach a US AI vendor.

No surveillance dashboards.

There is no live feed, no CCTV plug-in, no real-time tracking. Ansikt is a compliance tool. The product would not exist otherwise.
